love on your own mountain

i was recently speaking with someone, really can’t remember who, about how the next man’s problems are more than likely worse than ours. paolo coelho’s blog again … and more inspiration. this time reading the parable of this old man makes me think of how people feel so unempowered in their own mess. how they avoid the emotional pain of their own lives so deeply that they travel through adverse physical environments to ask someone who’s never met them how to get rid of their own emotional pain. what i gather from this story is that if there is someone’s life i admire then i don’t need to go ask them anything … i can do what they do. in this case, the old man meditated and kept to himself a lot. maybe if i did that … i would achieve the same peace he has. i mean … just an idea y’all.
